Hand spinning tuition from my wool workshop just outside the Exmoor town of Wiveliscome.
Join me to explore natural fibres and learn to spin fleeces from our flock of rare breed sheep.
Using an Ashford spinning wheel, learn to spin, ply and finish your very own yarn.
This is a shorter course suitable for improvers, or people with some experience spinning with medieval or drop spindles.
We will concentrate on spinning the pre prepared wool, if you would like to learn about choosing fleeces, carding and combing, and have more time to hone your technique, I suggest the 2 day course.
- Spinning with an Ashford traditional spinning wheel
- Plying and finishing your yarn to take home
- Opportunity to visit the HoneyWoods Flock and learn about their care
Workshops are 10am to 4pm with a break for lunch.
One on one tuition (£100) or group workshops of up to four people (£75 each) are available. If you have two or three people wanting to come together you are welcome to find a date for your group at the lower price.
All tools and equipment, fleeces and tea/coffee are included.
This is perfect for improvers sessions if you want to focus on long draw, or improving your spinning and learning more theory.
