Mill-spun Exmoor Horn wool yarn in DK.
This DK is a well rounded 3 ply yarn around 220m per 100g.
Exmoor Horn are not a rare breed but their numbers are limited; this yarn is from my two ewes, Innie and Outie (so called to reflect the shape of their horns).
Sent to Rampisham Hill Mill in Dorset for washing, carding and spinning.
This yarn is not soft for garments worn next to your skin, but would be perfect for hard wearing socks, rugs and tapestries. It is important to promote their fleeces for crafting as a way to encourage breeding and the continuation of the breed.
A truly small scale, rare breed, ethical, low mileage, sustainable yarn.
100% natural plastic-free yarn with a soft shade of white or brown. It accepts natural dyes easily. Skeins are packaged with a 100% recycled label and recycled tape, and posted in recycled mailers.
Blade shorn, of course.
