Leicester Longwool Yarn, Quantocks

Mill-spun Leicester Longwool wool yarn in 4 ply weight.

This stunning yarn is a strong but low twist 2 ply yarn construction.

This wool is the autumn shearing of sheep on the Quantocks just half an hour from my farm.

Thomasina is an experienced and knowledgeable shepherd with a passion for the welfare of her animals. These fleeces were blade shorn autumn 2023.

Leicester Longwool is a rare breed sheep with a range of colours, a very long staple, with little or no crimp. This makes a yarn with fantastic drape and a beautiful 'halo'.

Sent to Shire Mill in for washing, carding and spinning.

100% natural plastic-free yarn with a soft shade of grey. Skeins are packaged with a 100% recycled label and recycled tape, and posted in recycled mailers.
