Raw and Carded Fleeces

Wool in sliver, batts or roving, washed and ready for spinning or felting.

Sliver is a carded preparation that is suitable for long draw/woolen spinning as well as felting. It is similar to roving, but has been processed less.

Raw fleeces are sold as they come off the sheep at shearing - usually well skirted, so you will not have any belly fibre or very dirty fibre. There will be grease, dirt and vegetable matter in varying amounts depending on the sheep.
