Shetland Sheepskin, Rosie

Rosie was an older Shetland ewe who was given to me a few years ago to look after her in her retirement.

It came to the right time to let her go; we skinned her fleece at home and salted it.

This sheepskin is large! 91cm by 116cm.

While it is not as luxurious as the younger sheepskins, I believe it is important to make use of the animals in life and death whatever their age, giving them value beyond the usual lifespan of a commercial sheep.

Rosie was a gorgeous girl and I have her daughters in my flock to remember her by.

Tanned using natural methods that don't wash synthetic chemicals into our waterways.

This is a lovely sheepskin detail that will last a lifetime.
