A lightweight 3D printed drop spindle perfect for your wool spinning.
Top whirl drop spindle made from a 26 - 30cm long beech dowel, and a 3D printed whorl made with plant based plastic.
The spindles are a medium weight suitable for beginners and for fingering/DK/chunky sizes of spinning. They each weigh just under 40g.
These have been mad especially for The Woven Briar and many of them have my shearing blads logo in a contract colour on them.
I belive in using natural materials where possible and so these are made locally for me using PolyTerra PLA, which is a bioplastic 3D printing filament in which organic materials have been combined with PLA to reduce the plastic content and develop a more environmentally friendly filament. They are lightweight and have a fantastic earthy feel to the tough.
Packaged in recycled materials, posted in recycled and recyclable materials.
I also run courses at my workshop in Ford, Wiveliscombe, West Somerset.
