An ethnobotanical exploration of colour and trees

Join ethnobotanist Bec Briar in the barn at The Woven Briar, for an introduction to the world of tree pigments.

Explore the many colours hidden in the bark, cones, twigs and leaves of trees that you see around you every day.

Learn about the historical uses of tree inks and how they were made, experience the alchemy involved in making inks from nature.

We will explore our inks with mark making exercises using paper and natural materials.

Discover the hidden colours in the plants around us and make your very own inks to take home.

This is a creative and playful day, no experience at all is required, we will create magic together!
